Sight Words Bingo: free printable cards
Printable sight word bingo cards using Dolch and Fry high frequency words.
Sight word bingo turns a routine reading drill into a game that children ask to repeat. The default list draws from the Dolch and Fry high frequency words, which appear so often in early texts that quick recognition makes a real difference to reading fluency.
Call each word clearly, use it in a short sentence, and give students time to find it. Swap the list for the words your class is working on this week, and print a different card for each child so matches are spread around the room.
One of the 5×5 cards this template makes. Every printed card gets its own layout.
How to play
- Give each student a card and some counters.
- Say the word, use it in a sentence, then say it again.
- Students find and cover the word.
- First row wins; replay with a new caller.
- Swap in this week's word list before printing.
The 40 squares in this template
A 5×5 card with a free space uses 24 of them, so each card gets a different mix. Edit, add or delete any of these after you open the template.

Printing tips
- For a group of up to 30 you can print everything free. Choose 2 cards per page for a standard size, or 4 per page to save paper.
- Turn on the call sheet. It lists every square in a random order with a checkbox, so the caller never repeats one.
- Add a few more squares than the 24 a card needs. The more entries, the more the cards differ.
- Pick “Save as PDF” in the print dialog if you want to email the cards or print them later.
